Take an off-road adventure

Explore the Bass Coast’s finest gravel bike trails, with our debut off-road event, the BCCC gravel ride. This stunning route, combines 60km of gravel and ~40km of bitumen, taking riders through some of the most rugged, breathtaking areas of the beautiful Bass Coast. Recommended for intermediate to experienced riders.

Date: Saturday 11 November, 2023

Start time and location: Arrive before 8am for briefing ahead of an 8.15am start. All rides start and finish on Ramsay Blvd, Inverloch outside the Beach Box Café. NB: 121m riders depart at 8am, so please be aware of those riders when entering the area.

    Starting and finishing in Inverloch, the ~100km gravel ride includes Mt Misery (gravel road up the back of Mt Misery and Bitumen down), the famous Bass Coast Rail Trail south of Kilcunda, and the stunning desal trails via Williamsons Beach, Powlett river, Baxters wetlands and the Wonthaggi conservation reserve. Refreshment stops for the gravel ride will be Catholic Hill school 50km into the gravel ride, and second refreshment stop will be at 80km Cape Paterson Tavern Surf Beach road.

  • ~100km gravel profile

    The BCCC gravel ride is recommended for intermediate to experienced riders, with up to 12% gradient climbs and 706 m of climbing. Road conditions vary from 40km of bitumen, to 60km gravel roads and rail trail surfaces, a perfect course for gravel bikes or MTB bikes.

    Riders will be rewarded for their early efforts with the return journey - through the relatively flat rail trail and desal trails - with some of the most breathtaking scenery in the region.
